Rayomand Banajee bagged his 8th Championship Title (6th in Karting), when he finished 4th in Round 5 of the JK Tyre Rotax Challenge. The win means he will represent India in the World Rotax Karting Finals in Italy, later this year.
Rayo who entered the 5th & final round with a healthy lead, had to simply ensure that he finished in the top 4 in both the pre final & final. Qualifying saw Ameya W on pole, with Rayo just a mere 1 hundreth of second behind. After both heats, Rayo started on pole for the pre-final. Deciding not to fight with Ameya who was not in championship contention, Rayo settled for 2nd in the pre-final.
In the final, a good start ensured that Rayo maintained 2nd place. However, his engine soon started overheating & therefore he slowed down to conserve his engine, allowing two drivers to go by. Rayo maintained his 4th position, to finish behind Ameya, Ronak & Karan. The 4th place was enough for Rayomand to win the crown after 5 rounds of tough racing.
